Dragon cup set

In Chinese culture, the dragon (Lóng) is a symbol of power, strength, and good fortune, embodying harmony between nature and humanity. Traditionally associated with the emperor and the heavens, the dragon represents authority, wisdom, and protection. This symbolism inspires our Dragon Set Coffee Cups, which feature the classic motif—two dragons chasing a pearl. This scene signifies the balance of power and wisdom, symbolising prosperity, success, and harmony.

Our design blends this rich cultural narrative with modern functionality. From a top view, the plate depicts a coiled dragon, while the handle forms another, with the cup symbolising the pearl. This thoughtful integration represents the pursuit of excellence and collaboration.

We offer the set in three historically significant colours:

Bright Yellow: In Chinese culture, yellow has been a symbol of imperial power and authority. Starting from the Ming Dynasty, yellow glaze was reserved for royal use, appearing on ceremonial and everyday palace items. Beyond its royal connotations, yellow represents brilliance and warmth.

Mint Green (Longquan Celadon): Originating in the Song dynasty, Longquan celadon is renowned for its exquisite jade-like texture and serene, translucent quality. This green glaze was highly prized for its calming, elegant appearance, which reflects the harmonious balance of nature and humanity in Chinese philosophy. Longquan celadon not only symbolises high status and sophistication but also embodies the ideal of serene beauty, making it a timeless representation of classical Chinese artistry.

Sky Blue: This color is inspired by the famous Ru ware from the Song dynasty, specifically the (Sky Blue) that Emperor Huizong ( ) dreamt of. According to legend, he envisioned a serene, sky-blue hue and instructed his artisans to create this exact shade, resulting in the exquisite glaze that has since become a symbol of elegance and tranquility.

Each glaze colour carries with it centuries of craftsmanship and cultural resonance, seamlessly blending tradition with modern artistry.

Our packaging was specially designed by a calligrapher, featuring both traditional and simplified versions of the Chinese character for ‘dragon’ as the main design on the white box. Each set of dragon cups comes with this exclusive packaging.
